This video is over 3 years old but it was deleted when my blog was accidentally deleted. I’m just now getting around to adding it back. It was a fun video to shoot and we had a great time making it. I was pregnant with Anna at the time but it was super, super hot so that wasn’t so fun.
We are starting our first grade homeschool here at the Wannabe Homestead and we’ve got a ton of new books. We’re following the Classical Model of Education BUT you don’t have to follow the Classical model to enjoy these books- I think they’d be awesome for any 1st grader!
We did it! We closed on our first paid-for property! It’s not our forever homestead (it’s only a quarter acre and it’s not farm land) but it is a great starter property. We paid $14,000 and that included a quarter acre of land, well, septic, existing power pole, carport, and patio. Notice I did not mention the house. We didn’t pay for the house because the house not worth anything.
We have been juicing on and off for a few years now, but since our CSA offered a “juicing” box, we’ve been getting more serious with it. The CSA provides us with…well… whatever is on the menu. Usually it’s plenty of fresh kale, lemons, beets, cucumbers, carrots, etc. And to be honest we can’t keep up- our fridge is overflowing with raw veggies! I guess we need to get even more serious.
I’m thinking about making the jump to carrying a concealed weapon for protection at night and when I out and about alone. The only problem is, I’m a complete newbie to guns. And I’m scared of them. What type of gun would you recommend for a girl to carry on her person?
This bin actually cost us $100 total in supplies. We were going to build it from pallets but I wanted something a little nicer aesthetically, one I could take with us since we rent, and one that would last a few years.
